Valerie Peck M.D.

Dr. Valerie Peck is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine and devotes significant time to teaching students, residents and endocrine fellows in the NYU School of Medicine. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Peck is involved in clinical research projects in the areas of osteoporosis and thyroid disease. Dr. Peck graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College, Columbia University and earned her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Bellevue-NYU Medical Center, where she also completed her fellowship in Endocrinology. Dr. Peck is the Co-Director of the Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Disease Program for the NYU Department of Medicine, the Co-Director of the Bone Density Unit for the NYU OBGYN Department, and Co-Director of the Bone Density Service at Concorde. Dr. Peck is also on the faculty member of the NYU Thyroid Unit and is the Co-Director of the New York Thyroid Club. She specializes in fine needle aspiration biopsy of thyroid nodules under ultrasound guidance. She is also the Medical Director of the NYU Medical Weight Loss Program and the Co-Director of the Endocrine Clinic at Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Peck is a member of many professional organizations including Endocrine Society, American Thyroid Association, American Society of Bone and Mineral Research, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and American Diabetes Association. Dr Peck has been named by her peers to the Super Doctors® list for the third year in a row, and is also named in Castle Connolly Top Doctors 2009-2011.
